A week away from the corporate grind...

Back in work again after a week off last week - same things, different day.

I did have a very relaxing time during my week off, though. Fortunately I still have 3 weeks leave to use up before the end of the year, so I should be able to have another break in the fairly near future.

Spent a couple of days in Birmingham mooching around the Museum and Art Galleries and quite a bit of shopping. It was nice to have a couple of days where I could sit around reading books, finished 'Made in America' and 'Star of the Sea' and a couple of V.I. Warshawski novels that were going cheap in one of the publisher's outlets. Fairly bog-standard detective novels, but fun. Not a patch on Inspector Morse, of course.

Had my birthday on Saturday, getting old. Apparently having a quarter life crisis is all the rage these days. I am tempted! I got some nice stuff from my family, especially from my sister who is very good at buying gifts that I want without having to ask, unlike me. I also have a nice stainless steel teapot that I'm impressed with because it makes green tea without it going bitter. I had a very nice meal out as well, I seem to be eating out a lot at the moment.

Back at the gym this week, got a new program as I've changed gyms, the new one is much nicer and a lot less busy. Costs a lot more though. Anyway, I've had aches from my Monday workout that have only gone away now. Squats. Lots and lots of squats. It's the best exercise, you know.
